— ANI (@ANI) February 5, 2022 to English, "I'm saying this as a common citizen. Once I go out I see several issues including potholes, traffic. Due to traffic, people are unable to give time to their families and 3 per cent of divorces in Mumbai are happening due to it." Amruta Fadnavis started her statement by urging the reporter to forger that she is the wife of Devendra Fadnavis.

The politician's wife has been receiving a lot of flak for her statement. Priyanka Chaturvedi, the leader of ruling party Shiv Sena in Maharashtra said that Fadnavis' statement lacked logic. She also took a jibe at Fadnavis by asking Bengaluru residents to not pay attention to the latter's statement as it prove "fatal " to their marriages.

Chaturvedi tweeted, "Best (il)logic of the day award goes to the lady who claims 3 percent Mumbaikars are divorcing due to traffic on roads. Please take a holiday break rather than having a mind on brake. Bengaluru families please avoid reading this, this can prove fatal for your marriages."

Many social media users were seen baffled by Fadnavis' statement. One user highlighted how data on important and pressing issues was not mentioned but main concern was raised on rising divorce rates. The user wrote, "Data on people who died due to oxygen shortage during covid? No. Data on farmers deaths during the protests? No. migrant crisis deaths? No. But data on the number of divorces due to traffic jams...yes."

Another user wrote, "This is the first time in history that traffic is linked to divorce. Lol". "So the divorce attorneys are sponsoring the pathetic roads of the city - besides the automotive shock absorber and tyre companies eh?" wrote another. Netizens questioned the source of the three per cent data so confidently given by Devendra Fadnavis's wife on camera. One user claimed that she was sharing an actual data that came out after a survey that can be found on a portal named SuveryMonkey.
