Devendra Fadnavis will become the 31st Chief Minister of Maharashtra on December 5. Alongside the BJP leader, allies Eknath Shinde of Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar of NCP will be sworn in as Deputy CMs. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at Azad Maidan, Mumbai. Among Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries in attendance will be his Fadnavis' wife, Amruta Fadnavis.
Who Is Amruta Fadnavis?
Amruta Fadnavis, a banker and actor, is known for multiple talents. She has made a mark in finance, music, sports, and social causes, among other sectors. She was born on April 9, 1979, in Nagpur to Sharad Ranade, an ophthalmologist, and Charulata Ranade, a gynaecologist.
Amruta earned a degree in commerce from G.S. College of Commerce and Economics followed by an MBA in finance from Pune's Symbiosis Law School. She started her career in 2003 at Axis Bank as an executive cashier before ascending to Vice President of the Transaction Banking Department.
Apart from banking, Amruta is also a former state-level tennis champion and was named Chief Patron of the L&T Mumbai Open Tennis Tournament in 2018. She is also a playback singer and has worked on Prakash Jha's Jai Gangaajal and collaborated with Amitabh Bachchan for Phir Se.
Devendra Fadnavis and Amruta met in 2005 and had an arranged marriage, according to News18. In an interview, Amruta once revealed that while she was initially apprehensive about marrying a politician, his "down-to-earth" nature immediately captured her heart. They have one daughter, Divija.
As per Devendra Fadnavis' election affidavit, Amruta has disclosed a net worth of approximately ₹7.9 crore. This comprises ₹6.9 crore in movable assets and ₹95 lakh in immovable assets. According to reports, her net worth has outperformed her politician husband's between 2019 and 2024.
