At 35 now, she has won six gold medals and three silver medals from her participation in the last four Olympic games. On August 3, Felix will go on the track to run for her 10th medal at the fifth Olympic game of her life.

With all eyes on her, Allyson Felix has less to worry about the winning part as she considers her participation at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 a victory in itself.

Taking to her social media account, Felix expressed what it means to her as a star athlete and a mother to be able to stay in the game. According to her getting to the starting line is an incredible victory after the hardest years of her life.

She wrote, "With a heart full of gratitude I’m taking space to remember all it took to get here." She urged her fans and followers to understand her fight when they see her on track on Tuesday.

" As an athlete who was told I was too old, as a woman who was told to know my place, as a mother who wasn’t sure I would live to raise my daughter. I hope you see that for me, it’s about so much more than what the clock says," Allyson Felix wrote.

Allyson Felix posted pictures of her posing with her daughter Camryn. She also included videos and pictures of the time when her daughter was inside the incubator. In one video, Felix talks about the change in her training schedule as she had to attend to her daughter.

The 400-meter Heat 3 track to be held on August 3 is an opportunity for Felix to break records and make history. If she wins a medal, she will become the only female Olympic track and field athlete to ever do so. The current record of that is held by Marlene Ottey of Jamaica. If Allyson Felix wins two medals at the Tokyo Olympics, she will become the athlete with the most Olympic medals in the US.

The semi-finals of the 400-meter track are to be held on August 5 and the final on August 6.

In 2019, just 10 months after giving birth to her baby girl, Allyson Felix had won her 10th and 12th title. That year, she became the athlete with the most medals at track and field world championships.

Allyson Felix is also known for raising her voice against the neglect that most female athletes with children go through. In 2019, she described in a New York Times article how her then-sponsor Nike didn't provide her with maternity protection. After the article got published, Nike announced its new maternity policy for all its sponsored athletes.
