Air-Hostess Jumps Save Toddler

Air-hostess' and flight stewards are there to not only assist us in boarding and de-boarding flights but are trained to save lives in case of an onboard emergency.. Recently a Jet Airways air-hostess did a similar job. She actually threw herself on the ground to save the life of the toddler. The toddler had accidentally fallen from his mother’s arms. Though she fell flat on her face, the child escaped completely safe. The incident happened at Mumbai Airport last month where the mother along with her 10-month-old baby was travelling to Ahmedabad.

Gulafa Shaikh, the mother had written a letter to Jet Airways in which she refers to the Air-hostess as her ‘Angel’. Gulafa is MD of a private company.

She says, “Fortunately one young girl (Jet air hostess Mitanshi Vaidya) saved my baby boy (who was 10-months-old then) from this accident. The young girl without worrying about her life helped me and just jumped and caught my son. She also suffered injuries on her face in the process, and may have also received a permanent scar on her nose,” reported the Times of India.

In a statement, Jet Airways confirmed this act of Mitanshi Vaidya. The Airways praised her for her efforts as this could have affected her own career. Without worrying about the injuries she could get on her face or her body, she quickly jumped to save the life of the baby.

In the letter, Gulafa states that she even asked Mitanshi for her mobile number. The hostess declined it, saying it was against the company’s policy which shows she clearly didn’t want to gather any sort of attention.
