"I realised the situation was serious. I started visiting hospitals in Mumbai from the very next day, until I found a government hospital. I was directed to the medical superintendent, who was surprised that I wanted to do this. They wanted to place me in the isolation ward for Covid-19, as they required more people for that. My shift lasts around 11-12 hours, I want to put in more,”  Hindustan Times had quoted her.

In March, Shikha had announced, "For those who don't know that I am a #Registered #BscHonoursNurse from Vardhaman Mahavir Medical and #SafdarjungHospital Spending my five years. So as you all have always appreciated my efforts my achievements this time need all of your support to #serve the #nation once again and this time I've decided to join the hospital in #mumbai for #covid19 #crisis.
