Freida Pinto Expecting First Child With Fiancé Cory Tran. Who Is He?

Who is Cory Tran? Actor Freida Pinto and her fiancé Cory Tran on Monday announced that they are all set to welcome their first child.

The couple took to their Instagram handle to share the happy news with the world. The award-winning actor also shared happy pictures where Pinto is flaunting her baby bump. Since the news broke, congratulatory messages have flooded the social media for the actor and her photographer fiancé.

The news surprised many Indian fans who are now wondering who Cory Tran is. So, here's what we know about him so far:

Cory Tran is the LA-based adventure photographer who was clicked with her when she visited India in December 2018. The couple announced their engagement on Instagram for Tran’s birthday, in November 2019. Pinto had addressed her photographer beau as the “most beautiful creation” that walked into her life.

“It all makes sense now,” Pinto had posted. “Life makes sense, the world makes sense, the past tears and trials make sense, what wise old lovers said about love makes sense, where I am makes sense and where I want to go completely makes sense,” her post read. 35-year-old Tran had, however, kept his post short and sweet, writing "The best birthday present I could’ve asked for. The couple has long been in a committed relationship. The pair first sparked rumours in late 2017 and have been going strong ever since. They made their first appearance as a pair at the US Open in September 2018.

Pinto, 36, was previously linked to Slumdog Millionaire co-star Dev Patel, who she reportedly dated for six years until 2014. A few months after announcing their engagement, Pinto and Tran attended her sister Sharon’s wedding in Assam. She had shared photos from the function dressed up in traditional Indian wear. The two are rumoured to be planning a low-key wedding.

Pinto, best known for appearing in Oscar-winning 2008 British drama Slumdog Millionaire and Rise of the Planet of the Apes, was last seen in Hillbilly Elegy. On the work front, she will be seen essaying the role of World War II spy Noor Inayat Khan in a limited series, directed by Anand Tucker of Hilary and Jackie fame. The expecting mom is all set to star in an upcoming time-travel drama alongside Orlando Bloom titled Needle In A Timestack, as well as a period romantic comedy with Constance Wu, Mr Malcolm's List. Read more about her here.
