Who Was Kalyani Kurale-Jadhav? Marathi Television Actor Killed In Road Accident

Marathi television actress Kalyani Kurale-Jadhav, best known for her serial Tujyhat Jeev Rangala, passed away on Saturday in a road accident.

The late actress was on her way home late Saturday evening from her restaurant when the accident took place near the Halondi intersection on the Sangli-Kolhapur highway.

A police official told Press Trust of India that a concrete mixer tractor hit the actress' scooter after which she succumbed to death.

 Who Was Kalyani Kurale-Jadhav?

Kalyani was born and brought up in Kolhapur but moved to Pune for her acting career. She reportedly moved back during the pandemic and started her restaurant business recently in her hometown.

She was a popular face in the Marathi entertainment industry. She rose to fame with TV shows like Tujhyat Jeev Rangla and Dakkhancha Raja Jyotiba. As per a Hindustan Times report, Kalyani had recently opened a restaurant in Kolhapur where she would tend to customers herself. She was quite active on her social media account regularly posting reels about her new hotel.  She had also posted on Instagram barely a few hours before her death. She juggled her business and movies simultaneously.

A week before her demise, the actress celebrated her 32nd birthday and took to Instagram to share a video from her celebration. She revealed that she cooked a special meal for her loved ones.

The translation of her Marathi post read, "Yesterday, I spent my birthday feeding people with bread (bhakri) made with love. I was so happy I didn't go out to a party or celebrate my birthday. I could do this with the Almighty's blessing. May every birthday be the same."

As per news agency PTI report, a police official said that Kalyani was on her way home late Saturday evening when the accident took place near the Halondi intersection on the Sangli-Kolhapur highway. “She was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. A case has been filed against the tractor driver under Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act provisions,” the Kolhapur police official said.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Kalyani has been detained, an Indian Express report quoted a police official as saying. An FIR has been registered at the Shiroli police station in Kolhapur and a police investigation is underway.
