Simar Bhatia, niece of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, is gearing up for her big Bollywood debut with Ikkis. Recently, she made her first red carpet appearance at an award function, accompanied by her uncle Akshay. Their photos and videos have gone viral on the Internet and have captured everyone's attention. Netizens couldn’t stop praising Simar for her confidence and elegance. Earlier, Akshay had hinted at Simar’s Bollywood debut when he shared a newspaper clipping featuring newcomers set to hit the big screen this year. Among them was his niece, who will be seen in Ikkis, alongside Agastya Nanda.
He posted an emotional message, recalling his own early days in the industry. "I remember the first time I saw my photo on the cover of the newspaper. I thought that’s the ultimate happiness. But today I know the happiness of seeing your child’s photo here beats everything," he wrote. He further expressed how proud his mother would have been: “I wish my mom was here today, and she would have said, ‘Simar puttar, tu tah kamaal hai.’. Bless you, my baby @simarbhatia18; the sky is yours.”

Simar Bhatia is the daughter of Akshay Kumar’s sister, Alka Bhatia. Alka, a film producer, was married to Vaibhav Kapoor, with whom she welcomed Simar. However, the couple eventually parted ways. In 2012, Alka married real estate businessman Surendra Hiranandani.
Simar has been steadily gaining attention on Instagram, where she has over 18K followers. Her feed includes snapshots of her college life in the USA, vacations, and childhood memories.
She had shared a photoshoot picture with the caption, “And so it begins 🙏❤️,” marking her entry into the film industry.
About Ikkis
Simar will make her debut with Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film, set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, tells the story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, a war hero posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery. The film stars Agastya Nanda, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, in the lead role. Veteran actors Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat are also part of the cast. Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Ikkis is expected to release later this year.
