Who is Shivangi Joshi: Balika Vadhu 2, the reboot of a popular television show from 2008, is all set for a generational leap. Its central characters Anandi and Jagiya, currently played by child artists Shreya Patel and Vansh Sayani will soon be replaced by actors Shivangi Joshi and Randeep Rai.

While neither the makers of the show nor the actor have confirmed the casting, sources close to the team have revealed that the time leap and replacement of actors will happen on the show as early as the end of November or the start of the next month. It is being said that the makers zeroed in on Joshi for the part after contemplating over several names. Since Balika Vadhu was a popular show, the makers are not taking any chances with the casting of its reboot.
In the original series, Anandi's role was played by late actor Pratyusha Banerjee who was later replaced by Toral Rasputra. Actor Shashank Vyas had played the role of Jagiya. The part was later recast, like that of Anandi and was later played by Shakti Anand. The show also featured actors Surekha Sikri and Sidharth Shukla, both of whom passed away this year.

1. Shivangi Joshi is best known for playing the role of Naira Singhania Goenka on the hit show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
2. Hailing from Pune, Joshi completed her education from Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand.
3. She began her career as a television actor in 2013, with the show Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi in which she okayed a character named Trisha.

4. The actor was set to make her debut at Cannes Film Festival with the film Our Own Sky, however, her plans were thwarted by the outbreak of COVID-19.
5. Joshi had appeared in soaps like Beintehaa, Love By Chance, Begusarai, Yeh Hai Ashiqui and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.
