Robyn Carr is the name behind the world popular Netflix series Virgin River starring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson. The romantic series is based on the novel of the same name written by the author and is one of the most streamed series on the OTT platform.

Robyn Carr is an American author, famously known for her novel Virgin River which was made into a Netflix series in 2019. She has written around 50 novels, short stories and other non-fictional work and has also been on the Bestseller list of The New York Times. While many of us know about the Netflix show Virgin River and are familiar with the characters and actors who play them, many of us don't know the creator of our favourite characters, the one who brought life to Mel and Jack and weaved their love story. Hence, let's know more about Robyn, the author whose work is being loved worldwide.

Who Is American Author Robyn Carr?

Born in 1951 in United States, Robyn Carr's first career option was not writing. She was actually a nursing student back in her days. She fell in love with Jim Carr during high school and got married to him. Jim then joined the US Air Force as a helicopter pilot participating in the Vietnam War. Carr went along with her husband to war and has to relocate from base to base making it hard to pursue her career as a nurse because of her instability.

The incident that turned her life upside down was her pregnancy. While becoming a parent is one of the most joyful promotion in life, this promotion came a little hard for Robyn as she had a difficult pregnancy. Hence, in order to distract her mind to better things, she started writing romantic novels. She wrote unofficially for quite a time until she one day decided that her stories needed to be told to the world and went on to publish them officially.

Her first novel, Chelynne, came out in 1980 which marked her debut in the world of authors. She then went on to write novels like Blue Falcon, Tempted, Rogue's Lady, The Wedding Party and Blue Skies. Her novel series include Grace Valley, Virgin River, Thunder Point, Omnibus and Sullivan's Crossing. She wrote a short story of the title Natasha's Bedroom and an anthology by the name David Copperfield's Beyond Imagination, both of which released in 1996.

In the series Virgin River, there are many names of places after Carr's other books too such as Clear River, Grace Valley and more.

Carr went on to publish many novels ranging over topics like suspense, romance and non fiction. She also wrote articles and even screenplays many of which have not yet been sold. In addition to publishing an d writing, Robyn also interviews people. She hosts "Carr Chats" every month at a library in Henderson, Nevada, called the Paseo Verde Library. In her chat show, she interviews fellow authors and tries to bring the faces behind people's favourite characters. Talking about her personal life, Robyn has a son and a daughter.

Virgin River went on to become her most popular novel and was also made into a series that was released on Netflix in 2019. The story is about a nurse practitioner, Mel who moves to a small town, Virgin River for a job. The harsh experiences that she had in the town compels her to move back to her Los Angeles life but an incident changes the course of her life entirely. The series follows her journey to finding love facing challenges and dilemmas and various troubled relations. The series consist of 3 three seasons released in 2019, 2020 and 2021. After that the series was renewed for a season 4 which will be releasing in 2022.
