If you watch Bollywood films, it is unlikely that you will not have heard of Nora Fatehi. A popular  dancer, actress, singer and model, Fatehi is known for her work in Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi movies.

You may recognise her for her popular dance numbers such as Dilbar, Nachi Nachi, Saki Saki etc. But did you know that Nora Fatehi is Canadian citizen? Here are some facts about the popular dancer.

Who Is Nora Fatehi

Born on 6 February, 1992, Fatehi belongs to a Moroccan family and was born and brought up in Canada. She came to India to become an actor. In an interview with Film Companion, Fatehi revealed, "When I had come to India, it was to act and I just found myself dancing because they were the first opportunities that were coming. And I took them because in my head I’m like “I’m a performer, I’m an artist”, so I should do everything."

The 28-years-old model began her acting career by first appearing in Bollywood film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans in 2014, which was directed by Kamal Sadanah and produced by Abis Rizvi. Later, she made a special appearance in Emraan Hashmi and Gurmeet Chaudhary starter Mr X in 2015, which was directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Mahesh Bhatt. In the same year, she made her Telugu film debut with Sher starring Kalyan Ram. In 2016, she did a cameo appearance in Telugu film Oopiri, starring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Tamannaah Bhatia.

She is best know for her dance numbers in Bollywood films like Rocky Handsome, Baahubali: The Beginning, Batla House, Stree and Satyamev Jayate.

Fatehi has more than 17 million followers on Instagram today, and regularly shares videos from her handle. Here is one of the videos posted by her that went viral in June.

Rise To Fame With Television

In December 2015 Nora Fatehi, appeared as a contestant on Season nine of reality television show Bigg Boss. She entered the house as a wild card entry. She spent three weeks in the Bigg Boss house and got evicted in week 12 of the show. In 2016, she was seen as a contestant on another reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

 In February 2019, she reportedly signed a contract with the record label T-Series as an exclusive artist, to feature in their upcoming films, music videos, web series, and web movies. She then appeared in Bollywood dance film Street Dancer 3D opposite Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, directed by Remo D'Souza. Recently, she was seen as a guest judge on the dance reality show India's Best Dancer after Malaika Arora tested positive for COVID-19. She even posted a picture with Malaika Arora from her Instagram account, writing," thank u for trusting me to fill in for you on Indias Best Dancer, it was a beautiful experience! Im so grateful for the opportunity!"

During the pandemic, Nora Fatehi reportedly donated PPE kits to government hospitals. "It’s unfortunate that such essential resources are limited despite the fact that a lot of money has been collectively raised by people, throughout this lockdown. It seems it isn’t translating in the way it should. Basic medical supplies should never be a privilege. Rather it should be a right for all medical workers," she told Filmfare.
