Starring Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead role, the Tamil movie also features Avantika Vandanapu, Madhuri Jain, Surya Ganapathy among others. Billed as an 'eco-horror thriller,' the movie has been receiving a positive response ever since its TV premiere.

What is Boomika all about?

Boomika starts with an accident that takes place near Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu. A man is speaking to his pregnant wife over the phone when a truck hits his car and he dies. The action then shifts to a village in Ooty where we are introduced to the primary characters. They soon encounter eerie happenings such as dead people texting them, a phone working without battery, a car refusing to start you get the drift? These are the mysteries that unfold in the course of the movie. The movie tries to convey the message as to what happens when nature becomes impatient and begins punishing humans who hurt the environment.

Watch Boomika online: Where to stream the movie?

The movie is now streaming on Netflix. Anyone who has a valid subscription can stream the movie on the OTT platform. They announced the film's release last week sharing its trailer with the caption, "The greed of man. The wrath of nature. #Boomika, streaming on Netflix from 23rd August."

Besides Tamil, the movie is also available in Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. The OTT platform tweeted, "No way to escape fear. No way to overcome fate. #Boomika, now streaming on Netflix in Tamil. Dubbed in Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi."

On Sunday, Aug 22, Boomika premiered on Vijay TV.

Aishwarya Rajesh was last seen in Vignesh Karthik's movie Thittam Irandu. The writer-director Rathindran R. Prasad previously directed a section called Inmai in Mani Ratnam's Tamil anthology Navarasa.
