The movie revolves around the story of a young man who accidentally kills his associate Amar. Feeling remorseful of his actions, he decides to watch over Amar's company and look after his family and friends.
On reaching Canada, he meets Amar's fiance, helps her in making the company viable again. In the process, he falls in love with her.
Tum Bin was the debut movie of director Anubhav Sinha and producer Bhushan Kumar.
The movie proved to be a platform for debutants - Priyanshu Chatterjee, Sandali Sinha, Raqesh Bapat and Himanshu Malik.
The movie became a huge hit owing to its melodious music that broke records instantly. Nikhil-Vinay composed the music of the film. It was written by Faaiz Anwar.
'Koi Fariyaad' maintains its position of being one of the most soulful songs by Late Jagjit Singh.
