The date for Toofaan trailer release was announced Monday by the cast and crew of the Amazon Prime film. Fans will catch an extended glimpse into Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's sports drama world on June 30.

"Life can’t break you when love holds you together. Trailer out on 30th June," lead star Mrunal Thakur wrote, alongside the Toofaan trailer release date. The film stars Farhan Akhtar as a boxing champ. It is scheduled for release on July 16.
Toofaan, Akhtar and Mehra's second sports collaboration after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, was slated for a theatrical release on October 2. The release date was postponed multiple times owing to the COVID-19 surge in India. All you need to know.
"Let’s join hands and stand in solidarity. Taking a step back as an artist but we promise we’ll be back to entertain you in good time," Thakur had said, as the cast acknowledged the brutal pandemic second wave in a statement postponing the film release.

Toofaan tracks Akhtar's transformation from Ajju, a crook in Mumbai's Dongri, to national-level boxer Aziz Ali. Thakur plays Ananya, his love interest who has a huge hand in the journey he undertakes. Paresh Rawal is also in the film in a significant role as Aziz Ali's coach.
"Toofaan is a story that will motivate and inspire all of us to get out of comfort zones and fight towards achieving our dreams. We cannot wait to present our film to viewers across the globe," Mehra said on the film.
Thakur was last seen in Netflix anthology Ghost Stories released last year. Among her forthcoming big releases is Jersey, another sports film that stars Shahid Kapoor in the role of a cricketer.
