The Archies Cast: Know Who Are Part Of Zoya Akhtar's Film

The Archies cast talks were doing rounds on social media for the longest time. Finally, the film by Zoya Akhtar made an official announcement through Netflix, on which it will be released, today. As expected social media is buzzing about the new talents included in the film, their look and finally the nostalgia of The Archies comic.

The film is based on a popular comic book with the same name and each of the characters represents the original characters mentioned in the book. The one minute 35 seconds video not only introduces the cast of the film but also shows how the film is going to represent a loved comic book visually.

Dressed in the fashion of bygone days, the video showcases the characters having a picnic in a forest setting. Each with a different persona and relationship with others. The video has already gotten more than 65 thousand views in an hour of release.

The film is set in 1960s India and is produced under Tiger Baby and Graphic India production houses. The shooting for the film began on April 18 and the pictures from the set have already gone viral. On May 14, Netflix India shared the poster of the film on Twitter along with the caption, "Grab your picnic baskets and pick out your cutest outfits, we're going to greet Archie's gang! Presenting the cast of THE ARCHIES, a Zoya Akhtar film."

The film is all set for a release in the year 2023 and will see lots of new talents and the debut of actors in the Hindi film industry.

Suhana Khan

It will Khan's debut in the Hindi film industry, which for the longest was ruled by actor Shah Rukh Khan with his charming smile. She has a popular social media presence and owing to the fact that she is a star kid, has been under constant scrutiny. On social media, she was trolled for her skin colour and in the past was called derogatory terms for it. She will be playing the character based on Veronica.

Dot

Dot is a musician, who has a song named Khamotion. Her social media has more than 12 thousand followers. She recently released another song titled Wasted On You. She posted the announcement of the cast on her social media with the caption, "Ain't nothing like old school. Gran your gang 'cause the Archies are coming soon on @netflix_in!"

Khushi Kapoor

Born on November 5, 2000, she is the sister of Janhvi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor. She is the daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. This film will also be her debut in the Hindi film industry. In the film, she will be playing the character based on Betty.

Mihir Ahuja

He is known for films like Super 30, which was released in 2019, Bard of Blood in the same year and the State of Siege: Temple Attack in 2021. He has been part of the industry since 2018. Born on June 28, 1998, in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, he completed his schooling at Carmel Junior College.

Vedang Raina

He is a resident of Mumbai and is represented by Toabh Creative Agency. He has more than five thousand followers on Instagram and has put out two videos of him covering songs like Talk by Khalid and Earned It by The Weeknd. This will be his debut as well.

Yuvraj Menda

Not only acting, but Menda also has killer moves. The cute spectacled actor has more than seven thousand followers on Instagram and has shared a reel of him dancing to Beyonce's Freakum Dress.
