Buzz on the block is that actor Saiee Manjrekar is soon set to make her debut in Tollywood with more than one film under her belt. The 22-year-old, who is the daughter of actors Mahesh Manjrekar and Medha Manjrekar, has reportedly signed big projects in the Telugu film industry alongside the likes of Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun. As she readies for her screen breakthrough down south, here's all you need to know about the young actor.
Manjrekar is only one film old in the industry, having made her debut in the 2019 film Dabangg 3 opposite Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, in the role of the latter's cousin. Last year, she appeared in a music video for the song Manjha alongside Khan's brother-in-law Aayush Sharma. Now in 2021, Manjrekar's Tollywood debut comes with the Hindi-Telugu biography Major.
The film is a biography, based on the life of officer Sandeep Unnikrishnan who was martyred in Mumbai's deadly 26/11 attacks in 2008. Major, directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and produced by Mahesh Babu, will also feature Adivi Sesh and Sobhita Dhulipala in the lead.

Saiee Manjrekar Opens Up On Health And Contemporaries
Manjrekar, who has a large social media following with over 760K followers on Instagram, often shares snaps from her modelling shoots and fitness routines. She is one of three children of seasoned actor Mahesh Manjrekar, known for his wide-ranging career across Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, and Bengali films. Her mother, Medha, is also an actor in Marathi films noted for titles like Natsamrat and De Dhakka.
22-year-old Manjrekar, in an interview with Times of India last year, opened up about what fitness means to her, and how she utilised the coronavirus lockdown to maintain good health. She said, "Fitness, for me, is when you look at yourself in the mirror and feel happy with what you see. We had stocked up on chips, chocolates and other such junk snacks, and I would often end up eating those. I requested my parents to lock away the junk food, and so they replaced it with healthy stuff overnight... I am glad that I have moved away from the unhealthy lifestyle that I had got used to."

Manjrekar belongs to a new league of other celebrity kids in her age group, including Sara Ali Khan and Alaya F, who are all making a mark in the film industry today. On how she views her contemporaries, she told Mumbai Mirror, "I watch not only their films but their interviews as well. They are all so relatable, so real. I would really like to imbibe the confidence they exude, but I know it takes a lot of inner work to make it possible."
Other Films On Manjrekar's Timeline
The New Indian Express reports that Major is not the only film Manjrekar will be seen in down south. She is also gearing up for a sports drama starring Varun Tej. As per reports, shooting for the unnamed project was postponed late last year to give Tej more time for sports training.
Some sources even say that Manjrekar might soon even star opposite Allu Arjun, one of Tollywood's most acclaimed celebrities. TOI reports that the project, yet untitled, is being publicised as 'AA21.' It is apparently a big-budget film directed by Koratala Siva, and will go on floors later this year.
