Taapsee Pannu To Share Screen With Shah Rukh Khan In Upcoming Film 'Dunki'

Actor Taapsee Pannu took to Twitter on April 19 to announce her upcoming film which will be directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Pannu has been cast alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The actor revealed the name of the film Dunki and shared that it will be released on December 13, 2023.

In an elated tone, Pannu tweeted, "Finally, it’s happening! I feel overwhelmed to announce my upcoming film with @iamsrk & @RajkumarHirani. See you in cinemas on 22.12.23." She also shared the announcement video of the film. 

Taapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan To Be Seen Together In Dunki

In the video by Red Chilies Entertainment, Shah Rukh Khan is seen looking at the posters of Rajkumar Hirani's films of the past and admiring the characters. He then asks Hirani if there is something like that for Khan as well. Hirani replies in affirmative and tells him about the script of Dunki. As per the introduction video, the film is going to have comedy, it is going to be emotional and Shah Rukh Khan's fan's will also see some romance in the film.

The film is being produced by Red Chilies Entertainment, Rajkumar Hirani Films and Jio Studios. Producer Gauri Khan was also tagged in Taapsee Pannu's post.

Pannu was last seen in a film titled Looop Lapeta along with Tahir Raj Bhasin and in Rashmi Rocket before that. Dunki is going to be the actor's film with Bollywood's much loved actor Shah Rukh Khan. While Pannu has been coming out with one release after another in the past couple years, Khan has been away from the theatres after he was seen in Zero in 2018. Despite being loved by many critics, the film failed to do well at the box office.

Shah Rukh Khan is also going to be seen in an upcoming film titled Pathaan which also stars actors Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Pathaan is also slated for release in 2023.

Apart from Dunki, Taapsee Pannu is set to appear in biopic of Indian women's cricket team player Mithali Raj. The film is titled Shabaash Mithu.
