The new trend in Bollywood is to bring sequels to many of the hit films from the industry. Now the filmmakers announce the sequel of the most loved horror comedy of 2018, Stree.
Rajkummar Rao posted a clip establishing the shoot has started. He captioned it- Ek baar fir chanderi mein fela aantak (Once again there is terror in Chanderi)! Stree 2 filming begins! Aa rahi hai woh (she is coming)- August 2024!
All about Stree 2
Dinesh Vijan’s Stree 2 has begun its shooting today in Chanderi. The film brings back the original cast of Stree- Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee in its sequel. It also promises to bring other surprising characters and elements to the film. The film is backed by Jio Studios and directed by Amar Kaushik. Actor Shraddha Kapoor first announced the return of Stree 2 by making a cameo appearance in Thumkeshwari, one of the songs of Bhediya starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. She confirmed the sequel in one of the behind-the-scenes videos. Since then, the fans have been waiting for an update on the film.
The theme of Stree 2
The first installment carried the tagline ‘O stree kal aana’, the sequel upgrades it to ‘O Stree Raksha Karna' this time, indicating that the villagers are no longer afraid of her, but instead asking for her help. The first part of the film followed the plot set in Chanderi where every man is afraid of a spirit known as Stree who captures men and leaves them behind without clothes. She is known to be taking revenge on the men around who used her for their pleasure, but none loved her. This time the plot revolves around the theme ‘sarkate ka aatank’. This increases the excitement for its release, but all the audience can do is wait for another year.
