Shanaya Kapoor Confirms Debut under Karan Johar Productions

Shanaya’s first association with Dharma was as an assistant director on her cousin Janhvi Kapoor’s film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, produced under Johar’s banner. The film will also be starring Gurfateh Pirzada, who rose to fame in 2020 through Netflix's Original movie Guilty. Pirzada will be seen playing the character Angad, and Lakshya Lalwani, who is a well-known face in Indian Television will be seen playing the character Karan, in Bedhadak, his Bollywood debut.

Previously in 2019, Shanaya had told news agency IANS that she would love bagging a debut with Johar. “I don’t think any actor would say no. He is family. He is talented and the most amazing director. I think I would start crying if Karan ever directs me. I would get emotional and just die.”

There has been a rapid increase in the coverage of lives and times of star kids in the last two years. Especially, those who will be making their debut in Bollywood soon. Shanaya Kapoor, who hails from the Kapoor clan of Bollywood, has added pressure considering the family history in Bollywood and narratives around infamous nepotism.
