The crime drama series was renewed for a second season after receiving positive reviews in March this year. Imtiaz Ali has created as well as co-written the series with Divya Johri.

The show chronicles the journey of Bhumika, played by Aaditi Pohankar, who is a coy and poor Mumbai constable. Bhumika realises, and acknowledges, her dormant sexuality while exposing a drug ring as an undercover prostitute. Pohankar also shared the news with her fans through Instagram, promising them more intensity, power and drama in the new season.

''More drama, more intensity, and so much more power. If you think you're prepared for what Bhumika does next, think again. ~ Hold on to your seats, She Season 2 is now filming,'' wrote Pohankar. Both Imtiaz and Pohankar released short clips from the shooting of the show. In an interview with Scroll, Pohankar talked about how her character’s looks and energy levels “keep changing across the phases of the lives she leads”.

Directed by Avinash Das and Arif Ali, the first season of the show additionally starred Vijay Varma and Kishore. The first season premiered on Netflix in March 2020.

Director Arif Ali also shared the news on his Instagram, stating that it is an “absolute thrill to create” the show. The director indicated that the new season will be unpredictable, and the audience will be hooked on the characters.

Season 2 of She will star an ensemble cast including Pohankar, Vishwas Kini, Kishore Kumar G, Shivani Rangole, and Suhita Tatte in prominent roles. It is expected that season two will include seven episodes, similar to season 1.
