Ranveer Allahbadia
YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia aka BeerBiceps has apologised for his comments and jokes on Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent after receiving widespread backlash. Allahbadia is under fire for allegedly making an inappropriate joke on 'parental intercourse' during an appearance on India’s Got Latent (IGL). The joke has sparked widespread criticism online, with many demanding stricter regulations on online content, especially for platforms accessible to young audiences.
"I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry. I personally had a lapse in judgement. It was not cool on my part," he wrote in the caption for the video he shared on social media.

Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina Face Official Complaint Over IGL's Content
While judging a contestant on India’s Got Talent, Ranveer asked, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life or join them once and put a stop to it?” This “joke” shocked both the audience and his fellow judges. Even Samay Raina, known for his dark humour, appeared taken aback. “What the f**?”* Raina reacted, followed by another judge questioning, “Kya ho gaya hai Ranveer bhai ko?” Though the judges laughed off the comment at the time, the reaction on social media was far from forgiving.
In response to the backlash, the Hindu IT Cell filed a complaint against India’s Got Latent and Ranveer Allahbadia. The group shared on their X (formerly Twitter) account that an individual named Akshit Singh had submitted an official complaint to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, accusing Samay Raina and Ranveer of "promoting obscenity."
"We have submitted an official complaint to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting against @ReheSamay & @BeerBicepsGuy for promoting obscenity. Jai Hind," the post stated.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also criticised Allahbadia for his inappropriate joke, emphasising that comedians and influencers should respect boundaries and face consequences when they don’t. Addressing the issue, Fadnavis stated, "Certain things have been said and presented in a very wrong manner, as I have come to know... This is absolutely wrong. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech, but our freedom ends where we encroach upon someone else’s freedom. This is not right. I believe that even expression has its limits."

BeerBiceps’ recent comment is yet another reminder of how absurd, irresponsible narratives are being passed off as intellectual discussions—all for views, engagement, and clout. But is he alone to be blamed? Or are we—the…
Not just #Beerbiceps, but for me, every person sitting over there, clapping, laughing, and participating is equally sick. If any other so-called comedians or influencers lack the courage to callout this sh!t, then you are just as useless. #Beerbiceps #RanveerAllahabadia https://t.co/tizDWKH86G

Dark humor needs boundaries. If it’s extreme, it shouldn’t be mass-distributed. If you haven't subscribed to such content, you shouldn’t be forced to see it. And if something is truly unacceptable, you can’t just hide behind “freedom of speech".#Latent #Beerbiceps #samayraina

Freedom of speech is a double-edged sword. Sadly sometime its allows for the propagation of mediocrity and shock value masquerading as content.

Fame & money are an addiction & despite having enough, most people blur boundaries between right & wrong chasing them more #RanveerAllahbadia really had no good reason to be on this platform knowing well the format

Not the First Controversy for India’s Got Talent
This incident isn’t the first time India’s Got Latent has faced criticism. The show, hosted by Samay Raina, was previously in hot water when a joke about dog meat led to a formal complaint. Read about it here.
Billed as a “pointless reality show,” India’s Got Latent features celebrity judges who rate contestants based on their performances. However, the show adds a quirky twist, contestants must predict their own scores to win. While the format aims to entertain, it has repeatedly drawn criticism for pushing the boundaries of humour too far.
