Olivia Colman Joins Marvel Studio's Series, Secret Invasion

Olivia Colman to join Marvel studio's Series Secret Invasion: It has been speculated that Oscar-winning British actor would be joining the Marvel franchise in their upcoming series Secret Invasion, there has been no clarity on what she will playing although infiltration of Skrulls on Earth is said to be a part of the story.

Olivia Colman is known for her impeccable acting skills and has many feathers in her cap, she won an Oscar for the best actress in 2019 for her movie, The Favourite, she has also been nominated this year for the best-supporting actress Academy Award for her role in The Father. Colman has also appeared on many shows on OTT platforms most popularly known for playing the Queen on Netflix's show The Crown and Godmother to Fleabag and Claire on Phoebe Waller Bridge's show Fleabag.

Recently she talked about joining Marvel Studios for their upcoming series Secret Invasion, although the plot details are still under wraps the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter, uses the events of Marvel’s Captain Marvel movie to focus on Samuel L Jackson-starrer secret agent Nick Fury and a shapeshifter from the alien race known as the Skrulls.

Colman's role hasn't been confirmed yet but there has been some speculation of including infiltration of Skrulls on Earth as the part of plotline in the series. Kingsley Ben-Adir who starred in One Night in Miami is supposed to play the villain, although the director of the series has not been appointed yet. Kyle Bradstreet, who worked on the thriller series Mr. Robot, is writing and executive producing the series with a shoot planned in the UK and Europe later this year. With a multi-talented and popular star cast, this Marvel series is going to be on the watchlist of the audience.

Colman's thoughts on being an actor

Recently, Olivia stated that she has always wanted to an actor but she wasn't sure if she was allowed to be one and expressed her happiness regarding the successful turn her career has taken. Colman also talked about her indecisiveness regarding the roles she wanted to take on. She said, “I always do look at the script. I also am a little bit guilty of the fact that when there is a script that is really special, and I am very uncool about it. I am like, ‘Yes, please let’s do it.’ I am not very good at playing the game of, ‘Oh I might be a bit busy, I am afraid I won’t do it’. I have got to get better at saying no. But I can’t help it when the script is really good. It is a no-brainer really for me."
