Nicole Kidman to headline television series Hope: Academy Award and Emmy-winning actor Nicole Kidman will executive produce a television series based on Maria Sodahl’s European Cinemas Label-winning Hope.
Hope is currently nominated as the Norweigan entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 93rd Academy Awards.
The script is by Alice Bell who is also an executive producer alongside Kidman. Amazon Studios have acquired the rights to the adaptation.
The original 2019 released film had nominations in the best director and best actress category at the 2020 European Academy Awards. Andrea Braein Hovig and Stellan Skarsgard were the lead actors in the original.
However, further details of the upcoming show Hope is not revealed yet. Although the movie was a romance and family drama. The show's plot essentially revolves around twelve days of Christmas of a couple in a tenuous marriage with six children between them. The movie was labelled as a romance and family drama.
'Blossom Films' of Nicole Kidman
The production banner was co-founded by Per Saari with Kidman. Other than Hope, Blossom films is currently in the pre-production phase for The Expatriates, a series based on Janice Y.K. Lee’s novel of the same name. This series is also penned by Alice Bell.
Kidman's production house has been booked for several other popular films and TV series.
Another film adaptation under the banner for Amazon Studios is A.S.A Harrison's The Silent Wife. Also, a television series based on Andrew Bovell’s musical 'Things I Know to be True' is also in the bag.
Kidman starring The Undoing is the latest success of her production company. It gained millions of viewers in all platforms that premiered it and also got HBO high ratings.
