The trailer, less than two minutes in duration, captures emotions like fear, vengeance, hatred, confusion, deceit, longing, anger, regret and more. The Sri Lankan Tamil conflict has also been highlighted in the trailer. It doesn't give much insight into the plot of the anthology.

The idea behind the project Navarasa was to raise funds for those affected by pandemic in the industry. Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan are the directors of the film. Thus, it is a charity project. They also roped in a team of directors, actors and technicians who agreed to do the project free of cost. The earnings from the film will be used to help those in the Tamil film industry who have been impacted during the Covid-19 induced lockdown.
Revathy, Prakash Raj, Suriya, Prayaga Martin, Siddharth, Aditi Balan, Prasanna, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Vijay Sethupathy, Yogi babu, Bobby Simha, Rohini, Delhi Ganesh, Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi, and Arvind Swami among others are some of the actors you can look forward to watching in the anthology.
All the nine stories will represent a different emotion and are helmed by a different filmmakers
The anthology will also be available in English besides other languages.
The anthology also happens to be a collaboration of phenomenal music composers including AR Rahman, D Imman, Ghibran, Aruldev, Karthik, Ron Ethan Yohann, Govind Vasantha and Justin Prabhakaran.
Netflix describes the series as “an anthology that will hit every emotional chord.”
Earlier scheduled to release in 2020, Navarasa is now slated to release on Aug 6, 2021.
