10 Things To Know About Runaway Lugaai, The Show Starring Ruhi Singh

Runaway Lugaai which is MX player's latest comedy-drama series featuring Ruhi Singh released on the streaming platform on May 18.

The show will be a break from the flood of crime thriller that the OTT platforms are overwhelmed with these days. The show also marks the digital debut of the Calendar Girls actor Ruhi Singh who plays the role of Bulbul, a modern and misfit girl in her family.

1. Runaway Lugaai is a comedy series which has the actor Naveen Kasturia and Ruhi Singh in the lead roles.

2. The 10-episode show is directed by Avinash Das who also helmed the 2017 film Anaarkali of Aarah.

3.The show premiered on MX Player on May 18 and is available to watch on the platform for free.

4. It is the story of a young bride played by Ruhi Singh who runs away the morning after her wedding.

5. The male lead of the show is a judge in a district court in Bihar played by Naveen Kasturia.

6. The show is a commentary on India's political and social system where the politically "powerful" fathers often raise their kids in their shadows.

7. Kasturia talked about his character and said that Rajnikant (Rajni) Sinha is a lovelorn fool who is very enthusiastic about his marriage.

8. He also said that in the show, Rajni is on a journey to find his runaway luggage which makes him break the mould and become stronger than before.

9. Other than Ruhi Singh and Naveen Kasturia, the other actors who are part of the show are Sanjay Mishra, Bhojpuri star Ravi Kishan, and Pankaj Jha.

10. About her character Bulbul, Ruhi Singh said that the character was very exciting to play because she felt like she was breaking stereotypes when playing.
