Mrunal Thakur has just turned a year older.  The actor is celebrating her 30th birthday today, on August 1. When Mrunal Thakur was 20 years old, she began her acting career and made her screen debut in 2012. After working on various television projects, Thakur made her film debut in the Marathi movie Vitti Dandu (2014). She then made her Bollywood debut with Love Sonia in 2018. The film got critical acclaim, making it the ideal debut for the actor.

Dhamaka

In the movie Dhamaka, Thakur plays the main lead along with Kartik Aaryan. Thakur plays the part of a reporter who is married to Arjun Pathak, who is played by Kartik Aaryan. The film is an adaptation of the 2013 Korean thriller The Terror Live. Thakur portrays the brave and fearless Saumya. Although Saumya's part in the movie was only a small one, you can see it on Netflix, it got mixed reviews from the critics.

Batla House

The film stars Thakur and John Abraham in the lead roles. John Abraham plays the title character, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, and Thakur plays Sanjeev's wife, Nandita Kumar. As the name suggests, the film is based on the Batla House encounter case that took place on September 19, 2008. Thakur played the role of a reporter, and she shared during the film's promotions that she had done her bachelors in mass media. She added, "So I thought that I should make the most of the preparations that I had done during my college days for the role of Nandita." The film is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

Super 30

The movie stars Thakur and Hrithik Roshan, and the story is centred on Anand Kumar, who is portrayed by Roshan, and Supriya Kumar Singh, who is portrayed by Thakur. Though she marries someone else, Supriya, a professional dancer, was Anand's love interest. The actor admitted that she had learned Kathak with Renu Sharma, a disciple of Birju Maharaj, for a few months before portraying a Kathak dancer in the biographical drama. Love Sonia

Mrunal Thakur, Riya Sisodiya, Freida Pinto, Demi Moore, Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadda, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, Rajkummar Rao, and Sai Tamhankar are among the actors who appear in the film Love Sonia. The plot centres on two sisters—Sonia, played by Thakur, and Preeti, played by Riya Sisodiya—one of whom is sold by her indebted father, and the other of pursues her sister in an effort to save her but ends up being involved in the sex traffic. Mrunal Thakur admitted that, in order to prepare for her part, she went to Kolkata's red light district to learn more about the women that stay there. She admitted that despite her extreme nervousness and multiple breakdowns while filming, the movie was special for her in many ways. The film is available on Disney Plus Hotstar.
