Modern Love Mumbai, a recently announced anthology came out with its trailer on Thursday evening. The series is part of the three Indian adaptations of the international series Modern Love.

The show has been made by six filmmakers, Dhruv Sehgal, Alankrita Shrivastava, Nupur Asthana, Vishal Bharadwaj, Hansal Mehta and Shonali Bose. Modern Love: Mumbai will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from May 13, 2022.

Modern Love Mumbai Trailer

The ">trailer of the series starts with a voice-over about the city of Mumbai, and how its energy has spoken to many people for ages. Then come the characters in their different shades. There is a writer who doesn't feel supported by her partner, there is a married woman who is leaning toward a young man, there is a young man hiding his love for another young man, a woman who doesn't like her son's vegetarian girlfriend, a married couple facing new struggles and another woman finding a friend in an unusual way. The trailer sums up the warm tales of love that are going to release soon on the OTT platform, in a way that it makes one excited.

The series has a star studded cast Pratik Gandhi, Ranveer Brar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and others. Hansal Mehta has directed the second story Baai and Shonali Bose and directed the first one Raat Rani. Vishal Bharadwaj has directed the Mumbai Dragon story and Alankrita Shrivastava has directed My Beautiful Wrinkles. Nupur Asthana has directed Cutting Chai and Dhruv Sehgal has directed I Love Thane which stars Masaba Gupta in lead role.

Other cast members of the show are, Bhupendra Jadawat, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Yeo Yann Yann, Meiyang Chang, Wamiqa Gabbi, Naseeruddin Shah, Sarika, Danesh Razvi, Ahsaas Channa,Tanvi Azmi, Ritwik Bhowmik, Prateik Babbar, Aadar Malik, Dolly Singh, Chitrangada Singh and Arshad Warsi.

The series is inspired by New York Times column, filmmaker John Carney made the original anthology Modern Love. The Indian adaptions of the same are on its way. After the Mumbai edition, the makers will come out with Modern Love: Chennai and Modern Love: Hyderabad.
