After a 28-year hiatus, Miss World has returned to India with its 71st edition, delighting the country with the opportunity to host the premium beauty pageant. The finale hosted by India is scheduled to broadcast on March 9. Model-actor Meghan Young will join Karan Johar to host the ceremony that's taking place in India after almost three decades. This year's grand finale promises an extra dose of star power. Young, the Philippines Miss World 2013, is also an actor and TV presenter.
Who Is Meghan Young?
Megan Lynne Talde Young-Daez known as Meghan Young, the 34-year-old Filipino-American, model, was the first delegate from the Philippines to be crowned Miss World in 2013 beating 130 contestants worldwide. Young will once again be walking the ramp at the Miss World finale tonight, this time not as a contestant, but as a co-host of the evening.
Young's reign as Miss World marked a significant moment for the Philippines. Her charm, wit, and elegance captivated audiences worldwide. Since then, she's carved a successful career as an actor, model, and TV presenter, showcasing her talents in projects including Till I Met You, Alyas Robin Hood, and The Reunion.
Young married her long-time model, actor, presenter, and vlogger beau, Mikael Daez in 2020 and the couple have been in kinship for over 13 years now. The Filipino power couple were recently seen on the screen together in the drama Royal Blood.
Young in her Instagram account had shared being a keen fan of the K-pop group SEVENTEEN and even visited their concert in South Korea along with her husband, sharing the updates on her active Instagram presence.
Miss World 2024
Johar, a powerhouse in Indian cinema, brings his charisma and experience as a host to the stage. He's no stranger to the world of Miss World, having served as a jury member back in 2006. This dynamic duo promises to keep the energy high and the evening flowing throughout the competition.
The excitement doesn't stop there. The Miss World 2024 finale, taking place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, will also feature captivating performances by popular Indian artists Shaan and the sibling duo, Neha and Tony Kakkar. India will be represented by 22-year-old Sini Shetty.
