"Math Makes People Retarded," Says Janhvi Kapoor, Gets Trolled

Janhvi Kapoor gets trolled yet again. The actor is currently busy with the promotions of her latest film Good Luck Jerry which is set to be released on July 29, 2022. During a recent interview with Curly Tales, she spoke about her childhood and made the statement "Maths makes people retarded" and "only cared about History and Literature".

 As social media has grown in popularity, getting trolled has become more prevalent. There have been several instances of Bollywood actors being called out for making certain statements, including Alia Bhatt and Ananya Panday. The latest target of trolls is Janhvi Kapoor, for a recent interview statement.

Janhvi Kapoor is facing backlash on social media for claiming "Maths just makes you retarded" while promoting her forthcoming film Good Luck Jerry on various platforms.

Janhvi Kapoor Trolled

In a recent interview, the Dhadak actor discussed her academic background and was cited as saying, "I only cared about history and literature, which I did really well in."

“I don't understand the point. Aaj tak maine Algebra ka istemaal kiya hi nahi hai toh itna kyu maine sar toda? (I never used algebra till date, don’t know why I was trying so hard). Like... what was the point? History and literature, on the other hand... it makes you a cultured human. Maths just makes you like retarded,” she further stated.

In response to Janhvi Kapoor's comment, netizens started trolling her on social media. A user commented, "Aryabhatta be like: IQ check ke liye hi zero invent kiya that (To check IQ I invented zero)." Another wrote, "Watch interviews of Sushmita Sen, Shahrukh Khan avoid Ananya and Janhvi Kapoor as simple as that".

Another comment stated, "her maths teacher watching this: (angry face emoji)." One netizen also commented, "The only actress you could take seriously in interviews is Kriti Sanon, she's an engineer and highly educated, plus she's very proper, even if you don't like her acting, you'll respect her as a human, I've yet to see something dumb or controversial from her."

Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor's next movie ">Good Luck Jerry will premiere on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar on July 29, 2022. The film is about a girl from Punjab who gets into drug peddling for her mother's treatment. 

Furthermore, she will be seen opposite Rajkummar Rao in Mr And Mrs Mahi, Varun Dhawan in Bawaal, and in Mili.
