Meet Lexi Minetree, Actor Cast As Elle Woods In ‘Legally Blonde’ Prequel Series

Legally Blonde is a film that has remained in conversations for over 20 years, eventually becoming a classic. As much as we loved Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods, her character's take on feminism is still greatly appreciated by audiences. A Marilyn who managed to become a legal wunderkind, Elle became a role model for women.

Exemplifying the strength of her character, Elle—a beauty with brains—inspired women to embrace their femininity and use it as an asset while working in a male-dominated workspace. As much as fans loved the film, a prequel starring Lexi Minetree as Elle has been sending them into a frenzy.

The series will focus on Elle Woods’s high school years, shedding light on the experiences that shaped her into the charismatic and ambitious woman audiences first met at Harvard Law.

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Witherspoon expressed her enthusiasm for the project. Inspired by Netflix's Wednesday, she believes that watching Elle Woods in high school is an idea we should profusely thank the makers for!

Meet The New Elle Woods

A relatively new addition to Hollywood, Elle Woods is a major breakthrough role for Lexi Minetree. However, her experience in projects like Law & Order: SVU, The Murdaugh Murders, Crowdsource Murder, and The Paramedic Who Stalked Me already seems to add layers to her character in the upcoming series as a budding lawyer.

An alumna of the University of Southern California, Minetree double-majored in theatre and public relations at the School of Dramatic Arts and the Annenberg School of Communications. She also serves as Head of Social Media and Public Relations in a PR firm.

Lexi Minetree was selected as Elle Woods after successfully clearing a competitive audition for the titular role. Witherspoon and her production company, Hello Sunshine, conducted an extensive search to find the perfect actress to embody the younger version of the iconic character. It will be exciting to rekindle nostalgia as Elle Woods is set to return and make us fall in love with her all over again.
