Mimi poster out: Actor Kriti Sanon took to Instagram to unveil the poster and a small teaser of her upcoming movie Mimi. Sharing the first official poster from Laxman Utekar's directorial venture, Sanon wrote, "This July, expect the extraordinary from the ordinary!"
Sanon, who is going to play the titular role in Mimi, can be seen showing off her pregnancy bump in the motion poster that was released on July 8. "Nothing like what you're expecting," reads the caption of the poster.
Her sister was quick to drop a comment on the poster. “(It’s) Going to be the best," wrote Nupur.
After the success of Bareily ki Barfi, the actor had shared the screen with Pankaj Tripathi for the second time in Luka Chuppi. The on-screen chemistry of the father-daughter duo had won over viewers and received applause from the critics as well. Now, Tripathi will be starring alongside Sanon for the third time in Mimi.
Mimi will have an OTT release. While no release date has been announced officially, as of yet, reportedly, Mimi will start streaming on July 30.
About Mimi
Mimi features Sanon in the role of a young surrogate mother. Talking about the film, the Heropanti actor had earlier told IANS that it is based on the subject of surrogacy but actually it's the story of this young girl who wants to be an actor. Sanon revealed that her character in the film is a dancer in Mandawa and she ends up being a surrogate for a couple. Then, the things that follow change her life and also change her as a person." Speaking with PTI, Sanon clarified that the movie is not going to be a serious, preachy movie on the subject.
Mimi is Kriti Sanon's second film with director Laxman Utekar. Earlier, they have worked together in Luka Chuppi.
