Why Is Khushi Kapoor's Outfit From The Archies Premiere Special

Khushi Kapoor, the younger daughter of late Bollywood icon Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, is stepping into the film industry with her debut in The Archies. At the movie's premiere, she garnered attention by wearing her mother's iconic Kaufman Franco dress, previously seen on Sridevi at the IIFA Awards in 2013. She adorned herself with Sridevi's jewellery from the 2011 IIFA Awards, completing her look with a simple hair bun.

The Mumbai premiere was a star-studded affair, attended by a plethora of Bollywood luminaries. Shah Rukh Khan and his entire family, along with the Bachchan-Nanda family, Karan Johar, Juhi Chawla, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, and more, graced the event.

Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi's sister, was also present at the premiere, marking a significant moment in Khushi's Bollywood debut. She showed her support for her sister Khushi's milestone moment. On her Instagram story, she shared a picture with Khushi, expressing, "The sunshine of my life and now sunshine in cinema. You are magical" Meanwhile, Anshula Kapoor expressed her emotions, saying, "Feeling too many feelings watching this one literally fly on the big screen. ILYSM my Khushi. You've absolutely killed it. Couldn't take my eyes off you."

Images of Khushi in the stunning gown were shared by her designer, Priyanka Kapadia, on her Instagram stories. In picture, featuring a shot from behind, the designer mentioned, "A very special night in a very special dress from her mom's closet."

Diet Sabya, a social media page, also shared side-by-side images of Khushi and Sridevi donning the same attire for comparison.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies is a Netflix release slated for December 7. The film adapts the beloved American comics characters into an Indian context. Khushi Kapoor steps into the role of Betty Cooper alongside Agastya Nanda as Archie, Suhana Khan as Veronica, and a supporting cast comprising Mihir Ahuja as Jughead, Vedang Raina as Reggie, Dot as Ethel, and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton.
