Suhana Khan Says Social Media Trolls Helped Her Value Kindness

The young clan of The Archies is busy with promotions of their film. During these promotions we not only get to see a glimpse of the energy the film carries but also the personal opinions of the debutantes. In one such promotion event, actor Suhana Khan talked about her ambitions as an actor and how she deals with social media trolls. Let's take a deep dive into the interview. 

In an interview with NDTV, The Archies cast Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor. Agastya Nanda, Aditi Dot, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja and Yuvraj Menda not only spoke about the movie but also shook a leg to its famous song VaVa Voom.

On being asked what would she like to change in the world, Suhana Khan said, "I want to make young girls feel confident and feel more in love with themselves in the world of social media where there is so much scrutiny. You feel low about your looks or whatever that may be." Khan also talked about how playing the character Veronica in the movie boosted her self-confidence. She said, "I really envied her self-confidence and the way she loved herself. There have been times when I have felt down in my confidence."

The interviewer also asked Khan about her plans on dealing with social media trolls. In her reply, Khan said that she doesn't really deal with it very well. She said, "What helps me ironically is that all the mean comments or whatever it may be have actually helped me value kindness a lot more. When I meet people...girls especially, it is just very heartwarming to see real people being so warm to you. It helps me a lot to separate the two that this is reality and that (social media trolls) is not."

Even before the release of her first film, Suhana Khan garnered a lot of popularity on social media. She has around 4.4 million followers on Instagram. Earlier also Khan made the headlines for her befitting reply to trolls. Sharing screenshots of some mean comments she received on Instagram, she wrote, "I’ve been told I’m ugly because of my skin tone, by full-grown men and women, since I was 12 years old." Speaking against the obsession with height and fair complexion, Khan had said, "I hope it helps to know that I’m 5’3 and brown and I am extremely happy about it and you should be too.”

The Archies has been directed by Zoya Akhtar and is set to release on Netflix this Friday.
