Katrina Kaif Tests Positive For COVID-19

Actor Katrina Kaif took to Instagram to share that she has tested positive for COVID-19.

Kaif in her social media posts asked everyone, who came in contact with her in the past few days, to get tested immediately.

Katrina Kaif wrote, " I have tested positive for COVID-19. Have immediately isolated myself and will be under home quarantine. I'm following all safety protocols under the advice of my doctors."

"Requesting everyone who came in contact with me to get tested immediately too. Grateful for all your love and support."

"Please stay safe and take care," she added.

Kaif and many Bollywood celebrities recently tested positive for the virus. Actors such as Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt, tested positive for the virus last week.

Since the beginning of March this year, the number of positive COVID-19 have seen a surge in India. While several states have been contemplating another lockdown, talks of a bigger role out of COVID-19 vaccines have also been doing rounds.

The rise of positive cases in Bollywood has led to the shutting down of film sets once again in the country. Speaking on the issue, General Secretary of Federation of Western India Cine Employees, Ashok Dubey said, "It is a stressful time for all of us." He said that major productions such as Akshay Kumar starter Ram Setu, Mr Lele, Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Gangubai Kathiawadi have affected before of the sudden rise in COVID-19 positive cases.

He said," Everyone is now cautious but clueless."

Dubey added that one reason behind rising cases among film celebrities is the extensive testing on film sets. He said that producers of films are making sure that all daily wage workers part of the film crew are paid even though they are in home quarantine after testing positive for the virus.

The Mumbai Police prohibited the gathering of more than five persons under section 144 of CrPC from Monday. As per the orders, people are prohibited to gather in bigger groups of five or more people between 7 am to 8 pm between Monday to Friday till April 30.
