Dhamaka release date: Recently, a lot of films are coming with journalists as protagonists and questioning the ethics in a profession which often faces criticism for capitalisation of crisis. One such upcoming film is Dhamaka, featuring Kartik Aaryan in the lead. the trailer for this upcoming OTT thriller was released on October 19.

The trailer features Kartik Aaryan's character Arjun in two different looks and wittily calls a TRP-driven television channel Bharosa. The film, directed by Ram Madhvani, is touted to be a sartorial take on state of journalism in India.
In Dhamaka's trailer, we see Arjun getting a call with a terrorist after he orchestrates a blast at Banda Worli Sea Link in Mumbai during his radio show. Arjun negotiates with his boss to give him his old job as a news anchor back, in exchange with an exclusive interview with the terrorist on prime time, which could sent the channel's ratings through the roof.
However, things slowly start slipping out of Arjun's hands, after the terrorists demands that he call the state's chief minister to the studio, who must then offer an apology. Ig his demands are not met, the terrorists threatens to blow up the entire city. Caught in the cross fire is Arjun's estranged wife. Will Arjun be able to fulfill the demands laid in front of him by the terrorist and save his wife? Will he be able withstand the pressure of TRP that he has brought on himself?
The film has reportedly been shot during the COVID-19 pandemic in just 10 days.

Apart from Kartik Aaryan, the film features Mrunal Thakur as Nisha Pathak, Arjun's wife. The film also features Amruta Subhash as the head of Bharosa Television Channel.

The film is scheduled for an OTT release on November 19 this year.
