Karan Johar Party Guests Tested: Actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Amrita Arora tested positive for Covid after attending a dinner party at Karan Johar’s home on December 8. The duo had taken to Instagram to confirm the news. Both the actors are double vaccinated and are in home-isolation.
Following this, Mumbai’s civic body BMC launched RT-PCR tests at their buildings. As per reports, Kareena Kapoor’s building has been sealed after her Covid Positive result. His residence was sanitized on Tuesday morning. Karan Johar has tested negative.
According to BMC, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Amrita Arora have violated the norms of the pandemic and attended several parties. It is not clear whether the duo is infected with Omicron variant or not, as per reports.
Besides them, Designer and the Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives star Seema Khan is also Covid positive. Kareena Kapoor’s sister and actor Karisma Kapoor, actor Malaika Arora (Amrita Arora’s sister) and designer Masaba Gupta are at the risk of contracting the virus. Their results will be out tomorrow.
“Some people have been infected. We have done contact tracing and over 15 people have been tested. The results are due tomorrow,” said Assistant Municipal Commissioner Suresh Kakani.
FIR over AP Dhillon’s concert
An FIR has been registered over Punjabi rapper AP Dhillon’s concert on Sunday. It violated a weekend ban on large gatherings that was imposed in Mumbai. Bollywood celebrities like Jahnvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and her brother attended it.
Across India, there are now 49 cases of Omicron, the new Covid variant first found in South Africa last month. The strain, which has a large number of mutations, is more contagious than the Delta variant but is believed to cause milder symptoms.
