Jyotika Instagram debut: Popular Southern actor Jyotika made her Instagram debut on August 31. Within an hour of sharing her first post, the actor amassed over 1.2 million followers on social media. This also marks Jyotika's debut on social media, across all platforms.
The actor shared some pictures from her "lockdown diaries" in one of which she can be seen holding the tricolour. She revealed that the pictures were from her Kashmir Great Lakes trek that she took on Independence Day. She also went on to thank the team that made her 70 km long trek an "awesome" expreience.
"On social media for the very first time ! A lot of positivity to share from my lockdown diaries," Jyotika captioned her post.
The actor us gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Udanpirappe in October this year. Directed by Era Saravanan, the film also features Sasikumar, Samuthirakani and Soori. Jyotika has co-produced the film alongside her husband, actor Suriya. The film will have an OTT release alongside three other films produced by the couple- Oh My Dog!, Jai Bhim, Aandalum Raavane Aandalum.
Who is Jyotika?
A populat name in the Tamil-language film industry, Jyotika has also worked in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam films. She is a recipient of Kalaimamani Award- the highest civilian honour in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Jyotika made her acting debut with the 1997 Hindi film Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, starring Akshaye Khanna in the lead. She then made her debut in Tamil cinema with the 1999 film Vaali. Following this, she went on to star in several successful films down South, like Khushi, Perazhagan, Chandramukhi, Mozhi and Mass.
After she married actor Suriya in 2006, Jyotika took a break from films and returned to the silver screen in 2015 with the film36 Vayadhinile. The couple has two children. After her comeback, Jyotika starred in several women-centric films like Kaatrin Mozhi, Raatchasi, Jackpot and Ponmagal Vandhal .
