The much-anticipated unveiling of the Indian spin-off of Citadel, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has arrived with the release of its first look. Prime Video India delighted fans by unveiling the inaugural poster of the upcoming series on March 19. Titled Citadel: Honey Bunny, the announcement has generated significant excitement among eager audiences awaiting the show's debut.

Describing the narrative as a captivating blend of gritty spy action thrillers and heartwarming love stories, set against the vibrant backdrop of the 1990s, the announcement introduced Honey Bunny as the Indian instalment within the Citadel universe.

The vibrant yellow poster showcased the title card, offering a glimpse into the characters portrayed by Varun and Samantha, both depicted as spy agents armed with guns, ready for action.
Varun Dhawan is all set to make his OTT debut alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the web series Citadel. Raj and Krishna DK will co-direct the series, which is an adaptation of the American original of the same name starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. However, it is an original story, more likely to be a spin-off, that tells the story of spies in India. The show will take place in the 1990s. In this suspenseful spy thriller, Dhawan and Prabhu will be playing the role of spies.
The series will also star Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saquib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher in supporting leads.

On January 30, Samantha and Varun Dhawan delighted fans by sharing pictures with the Citadel team. Their caption read, "Finally, we got to watch something... And we are like (sic)," accompanied by three star-eye emojis.
After Family Man 2, Samantha Prabhu is again working with Raj and DK. Dhawan and Prabhu started workshops early last year to prepare for the shoot. Moreover, Prabhu underwent considerable physical training in addition to working on her dialect for this series. She has been focusing on embodying her role for Citadel in the US, as per IANS, in order to adopt the physical attributes of her character in the series.
It's interesting to note that Priyanka Chopra has a prominent role in the international version of Citadel, which has spinoffs set in Mexico, Italy, and India.
