I can go to Rohit Shetty’s office. So these are privileges I’m well aware of.” That was Sara Ali Khan. An honest admission no doubt. And one that clears any doubts that nepotism in Bollywood is absolutely prevalent.

2020 saw massive debates on nepotism right after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Kangana Ranaut’s war with Karan Johar on his show Koffee With Karan sparked off an entire wave of speaking up about the subject. However, as new platforms emerge for entertainment, many actors in the industry have made a name for themselves despite the clouds of privilege star-kids have. These women have made it big in 2020 despite all the odds, which let’s be honest are magnanimous. 1.Rasika Dugal

2.Tripti Dimri

Well, her surpassing work in the film is no raaz at all. Creating her persona as a refined actor at the mere age of 26, she has become quite popular with her online fans and social media presence. She has also starred in the film Poster Boys and in Laila Majnu.

3.Tillotama Shome

Iss desh mei angrezi zubaan nahi, class hai

Excelling in Hindi Medium and lighting our hearts with hope in these bleak times with Chintu Ka Birthday, she has proved to be one of the finest artists we have today. With her quirky selection of scripts, she has been a part of films like Sir, A Death In The Gunj, Monsoon Wedding, Kadwi Hawa and Tasher Desh.

 

4.Sanjana Sanghi

Kabhi kabhi lagta hai mei koi reality show ki contestant hu, bas eliminate hone wali hoon. Par koi vote karke bacha leta hai.

Pulling the right strings with Dil Bechara, making her debut with Rockstar, this diva on stage has also left us waiting for more with her performance in Hindi Medium as well.  Her work in Baar Baar Dekho and Fukrey Returns has also been widely appreciated. 

5.Shweta Tripathi

Aap hi ka mann tha na ki aapki beti Mirzapur pe raaj kare, badi na sahi choti karegi.

Not only is she ruling Mirzapur, but also our hearts with her impeccable performance and commendable dialogue delivery. She has not only been a part of suspense movies like Raat Akeli Hai, but also stunned us with emotional pieces like Gone Kesh. Other well known work of hers includes Masaa, Cargo and HaraamKhor.
