'Five Times Madness': Makers Announce Housefull 5 Release Date

Housefull is part of the comedy film franchise by Sajid Nadiadwala that released its first part in 2010. The makers and the cast announced the release of the fifth instalment recently.

Housefull is a popular comedy movie franchise that is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The franchise released four successful movies so far and is now gearing up for the release of the fifth film as well.

Over the years, the Housefull  film series has been through many ups and downs. The exclusion of director Sajid Khan after the MeToo allegations and the misogyny and sexism depicted in the movies was deemed problematic by many. However, the film did great commercially on release, grossing around Rs 800 crores, all movies combined. The franchise ranks seventh among the highest-grossing Indian film series of all time. The franchise recently announced the release of its fifth film.

Housefull 5 Release Date

On June 30, Akshay Kumar took to his  Twitter to share the first poster of Housefull 5, promising five times the madness. The movie will be directed by Tarun Mansukhani as revealed in the poster. Nothing is known about the cast of the film except that Ritesh Deshmukh will be a part of it as the actor shared the poster on his Twitter too.

All four parts of Housefull have been a huge success and all of them had three things in common, Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh and Chunky Pandey in his popular character Akhri Pasta. The movies had an ensemble cast with actors like Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani, Rishi Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Asin Thottumkal, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda, Pooja Hegde, Rana Daggubati and Lisa Haydon. The first two films were directed by Sajid Khan and for the third one, he came together with Farhad Samji for direction. However, after the MeToo allegations against him, Sajid Khan was dropped from Housefull 4 as director.

Housefull 4 was released in 2019 and grossed Rs 300 crores collection worldwide despite many people criticising the dark sexual jokes and sexist treatment of female characters. The movie is slated for a Diwali 2024 release.
