Honey Singh statement: Yo Yo Honey Singh (real name Hirdesh Singh) has finally broken silence on accusations of domestic violence, infidelity levied by his wife Shalini Talwar. "I am deeply pained and distressed," Singh said in his statement. Talwar recently filed a case of domestic violence against him at the Tis Hazari Court in Delhi. His wife demanded the singer to pay Rs 10 crore compensation.

In a statement that he shared on social media late Friday, the Punjabi rapper mentioned that he is distressed by the "false and malicious" allegations levied against him and his family - his parents and sister. He claimed that the entire family is being wrongfully targetted. The singer-rapper stated that in the past he had been "subjected to harsh criticism for my lyrics, speculation on my health and negative media coverage in general". However, this time he is not maintaining silence because "some of the allegations have been directed at my family" who have, according to the singer, stood by him during some very difficult times.
"The allegations are cynical and defaming in nature," he said. Shalini Talwar also claimed that she was inappropriately touched by her father-in-law. She filed a case of physical abuse and mental harassment against Singh under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. She also sought protection and other reliefs alleging that she was treated like a “farm animal”.
The singer further responded to the allegations levelled against him by saying that those who have worked with him know about his relationship with his wife. Refuting all the allegations, he further said in the note that he has full faith in the judicial system of this country and that he is confident that the truth will be out soon.
Talwar and Singh tied the knot in January 2011 but it was only in 2014 when people got to know about their marriage. Talwar alleged being “subjected to numerous incidents of physical abuse, verbal, mental abuse and emotional abuse”, by her husband and his parents and also accused Singh of alcoholism, adultery and cruelty.
