Halsey’s Biopic: Sony Pictures have made a deal with the singer-songwriter back in 2018 for a movie that is inspired by her life. The biopic has not been released to date.
Back in 2018, Halsey was reported to be meeting up with Sony pictures for a project on a movie that is “loosely” based on her life. Soon, they closed a life rights deal to develop a movie on her career as an artist in the music industry. The singer-songwriter is also to star as herself in the movie.
While the news for Halsey’s biopic was announced years ago, there has been no news of progress or release date, so far. When a curious fan asked the 26-year-old why the movie never happened, Halsey addressed the reason behind the years-long delay.
The I Hate Everybody singer tweeted that the biopic is heavily delayed because she and the screenwriter fell in love instead. “Because Alev (Aydin) was supposed to be writing it the past 3 years and we slowly fell in love instead. You know the rest!” she tweeted on May 19.
Alev Aydin is Halsey’s current partner and also the screenwriter for the movie. He replied to Halsey’s tweet in his Instagram story and said that the whole situation “Sounds like a movie!”
The 26-year-old is currently expecting a baby with 37-year-old Alev Aydin who is a writer, producer and director based in Los Angeles. After going through a miscarriage and being diagnosed with endometriosis, Halsey was able to get pregnant with her first child. Read more on that here.
Halsey has previously expressed her desire to embrace motherhood. “Here I am achieving this out-of-control life, and I can’t do the one thing I’m biologically put on this earth to do. Then I have to go onstage and be this sex symbol of femininity and empowerment? It is demoralizing,” the singer-songwriter said.
