Janhvi Kapoor Starrer Black Comedy Film Good Luck Jerry's Trailer Released

Upcoming black comedy crime film Good Luck Jerry trailer was released. Good Luck Jerry is a remake of the 2018 Tamil film Kolamaavu Kokila. 

Set in Punjab, the film follows Janvhi Kapoor’s character Jaya Kumari, who goes by Jerry. Kapoor’s character is caught up in a world of mafia bosses, drugs and the police when she takes a risky drug smuggling job to pay for her mother’s treatment.

Kapoor stars in the film Good Luck Jerry alongside Mita Vashisht, Neeraj Sood, Deepak Dobriyal, Sahil Mehta, Sushant Singh, Saurabh Sachdeva, Jaswant Singh Dalal, Sandeep Nayak, Tashi Kalden, and Mohan Kamboj.

The upcoming black comedy film Good Luck Jerry is directed by Sidharth Sengupta and produced by Mahaveer Jain, Aanand L Rai, and Subaskaran Allirajah.

Good Luck Jerry Trailer

The Good Luck Jerry ">trailer starts off with Kapoor’s character Jerry contacting a drug dealer for a new job. She is quickly rejected because “Ladkiyo ka kaam nahi hai (This job is not for women)”. Jerry hails from Bihar and is currently residing in Punjab along with her family, her mother and younger sister. She and her family struggle to make money and Jerry deals with her tumultuous family while avoiding the advances of men.

Things take a darker turn when Jerry’s mother, played by Mita Vashisht, is diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer. Jerry promises that while she is alive, she will not let her mother pass away and becomes a cocaine smuggler to gather money for her mother’s treatment.

The momo seller turned drug smuggler embraces the life of crime, which quickly turns south. The situation turns dire as a large shipment of drugs goes missing and the mafia and police close in on Jerry.

While Jerry initially comes across as a naïve and docile character, the tagline “Jerry jitni bholi dikhti hain, utni hai nahi (Jerry is not as innocent as she looks)” implies that audiences will see a different side to Kapoor’s character.

Good Luck Jerry Release

Good Luck Jerry is scheduled to release on OTT streaming service Disney+ Hotstar on July 29.
