The announcement comes weeks after the makers of the Malayalam film confirmed that Malik, originally designed to be screened on the big screens, will alternatively make its debut digitally in the wake of the COVID-19 second wave. The decision to put Malik on OTT was made by the entire team collectively, according to Fahadh. In a recent statement he said " I personally request everyone to see it in the best interest of the film,"

The Mahesh Narayanan directorial is weaved around the journey of Sulaiman Malik (Faasil), who is a charismatic leader bestowed with immense love and loyalty from ardent followers. The gangster thriller will showcase how Malik sparks off a revolution against authoritative forces that try to invade the peaceful lives of people of his community.

The movie spans across different time periods and interconnected storylines that showcase how a crime laden past can interfere with a serene future. The timeline follows the protagonist’s childhood to middle age, spanning from the 1960s to the present.
