Kdrama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', Starring Park Eun Bin, Renewed for Season 2

"Extraordinary Attorney Woo producer Lee Sang Baek, said in an interview with a South Korean media outlet Edaily, "Thanks to the support of many people, we will produce season 2 of Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Our hopeful golden time will be in 2024. Our goal is to have season 2 broadcast at that time."

"It is not easy to coordinate the schedules of the cast and production team, so we will have to go through a lot of discussions. As long as there are no abnormalities, the goal is to have more than 90% of original cast members in the drama,” he also said.

The CEO intends to maintain viewers' interest in the drama through the production of various additional contents, including webtoons, musical productions, and merchandise sales, which were already serialized before season 2 aired.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo depicts the process of a new lawyer, Woo Young Woo who has a high functioning brain and is on the autism spectrum at the same time, joining a large law firm called 'Han Bada' and becoming a lawyer.

Among the series' leading actors are Park Eun Bin, Kang Tae Oh, Kang Ki Young, Ha Yoon Kyung, Joo Jong Hyuk, Joo Hyun Young, Jeon Bae Soo, Baek Ji Won, and Jin Kyung.

Based on the true experiences of women, small business entrepreneurs, sexual minorities, and North Korean defectors, many incidents that could have happened in the real world were dramatised into episodes.

Starting at 0.9% on June 29 (based on Nielsen Korea's nationwide paid households), the ratings increased to 4% in the third episode and to 11% in the seventh. With a 15.8% rating in the ninth episode, which featured a guest appearance by actor Koo Kyo Hwan (popular for his role in the Korean series ‘D.P’), the show beat its own record for the highest rating.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo will air its episode fifteen on August 17 and will conclude with episode sixteen on August 18. The series is an ongoing drama currently airing on the Korean broadcast channel ENA and also on the streaming platform Netflix for the international audience.
