Drashti Dhami The Empire: Actor Drashti Dhami shared the first-look teaser of the historical series The Empire on Friday.

Posing in royal attire, the actor confirmed that she will be seen making her digital debut playing the role of a warrior princess.

Created by National award-winning director Nikkhil Advani, the historical series will be releasing on OTT. The show traces the beginning of the Mughal dynasty and is touted to be mounted on a scale never seen in the digital realm before.

The show also features Kunal Kapoor, who plays the Mughal emperor Babur. “No one is above family. No sacrifice is big enough for #TheEmpire,” read the caption. Dhami also shared the same post on her social media.

Talking about her digital debut, the actor said this is the first time that she has played such a character. She said that her look in the show The Empire reflects “royalty”. However, it also allows her to shapeshift into the warrior she can be. “Every look test was a thrilling experience that helped me understand her even more,” she added.

The actor, on Thursday, posted a video of herself nailing a sumo squat deadlift of 55 kgs like a pro. She was beaming with pride as she gave her fans a glimpse of her gym time and showed them how to stay fit and healthy.

Dhami made her television debut with Dill Mill Gayye, a show that was hugely popular among youngsters. However, her breakthrough performance came when she was roped in for the role of Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi. She is also known for her work in the television show Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon opposite Vivian Dasena. Dhami has also starred in shows like Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil and Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka among others.
