Five Disney Plus Hotstar August 2022 Releases You Cannot Miss

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law

Lawyer Jenifer Walters will be living the dreams of all superhero fans out there when she transforms into She-Hulk this August. A lawyer in her 30s, she is interested in cases related to superheroes but when she turns into a green 6 foot 7-inch She-Hulk, her already complicated life invites more complications in the form of universal responsibilities and finding solutions to superhero problems. The nine-episode-long series premieres on Hotstar on August 17 and stars Tatiana Malany, Jameela Jamil, Mark Ruffalo and Ginger Ginzanga in pivotal roles.

Star Wars Andor

This television series will serve as the prequel to the Star Wars spin off series Rogue One that released in 2016. Set five years before Rogue One, the series focuses on the formative years of the Rebellion and the struggles of Rebel spy Cassian Andor for the cause. The show will reportedly have two seasons, 12 episodes long each. The first season releases on Hotstar on August 31 while the second is under production. The show stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgard, Genevieve O’Reilly and Adria Arjona in important roles.

I Am Groot

Catch the adventures of baby Groot as he grows and becomes the source of mischief around him. Voiced by Vin Diesel, this animated series consists of five shorts starring the famous Marvel character and part of the Guardian Of The Galaxy, Groot in toddler form and his crazy adventures in the stars as he gets along with different creatures and creates troubles. Bradley Cooper will also be a part of the series as the voice of Rocket. The animated series premieres on August 10 and is created by Ryan Little.

House Of The Dragon

This fantasy drama is based on Fire & Blood, a 2018 novel by George RR Martin. The show will serve as the prequel to the worldwide popular series Game Of Thrones and will take us to the events that led to the situations in the series. The show stars Paddy Considine, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith and Olivia Cooke in pivotal roles. The plot is about the story of succession to the throne after King Viserys I Targaryen, the fifth king of the seven kingdoms and the Targaryen civil war. The 10-episode-long show premieres on August 21.

Lightyear

The fifth movie in the famous Toy Story franchise, the movie focuses on the story of Buzz Lightyear. However, in this film, Buzz is not one of Andy's toys but an actual superhero in another fictional dimension and is based on the film about the human space ranger that Andy watched after which he decided to get a Buzz Lightyear plastic toy. The movie stars Chris Evans, Keke Palmer, Peter Sohn and Taika Waititi in pivotal roles. The movie had a theatrical release in June 2022 and will premiere on OTT on August 3.
