In the film, Bhatt and Shah play a mother-daughter duo caught up in a murder/kidnapping mystery. Their dynamic chemistry was displayed in the ">trailer. Vijay Varma plays Bhatt's husband Hamza in the film who is kidnapped and tortured by the mother-daughter duo. It is implied that the duo is seeking revenge on Hamza for the abuse he inflicted on Badrunissa (Bhatt's character), as flashes of her being hit, and thrown on the floor play on the screen.  Watch the Darlings trailer ">here.

One of the interesting scenes from the teaser featured the duo in a police station perplexed by the situation. They claimed that the police officer was mistaken and said that “The killing was only in our imagination”.

Last week, Bhatt shared a series of posters teasing the film's trailer release. In the first poster, Bhatt and Shah were shown looking at one another with puzzled expressions, while Bhatt was shown standing by Vijay Varma in the second. Verma was portrayed as a victim in the last two posters, and it was clear that he was in deep trouble. Check out the posters here.

Darlings, which is being produced by Bhatt’s production Eternal Sunshine Productions along with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Gauri Khan, and Gaurav Verma, is scheduled to release on August 5 on Netflix.

Meanwhile, apart from Darlings, Bhatt is also looking forward to the release of Brahmastra. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, it will also star Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy in the lead and will be hitting the screens on September 9. Bhatt also has Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh in the pipeline.
