On June 8, 2020, Disha Salian is said to have died by suicide by jumping off a high-rise building in the Malad suburb. Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered hanging in his apartment exactly six days later. In addition to Rajput, she was in charge of overseeing the careers of actors Bharti Singh, Rhea Chakraborty, and Varun Sharma.

According to reports, she went to celebrate her birthday and wasn't murdered, as some politicians had also claimed. After one of her business deals was cancelled, she was reportedly under stress. She was also getting married soon.

Viral Bhayani, a celebrity photographer, shared a post about the matter. Its caption said, "The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has concluded that talent manager Disha Salian died, by falling from the terrace due to loss of balance, while intoxicated. People with knowledge of the matter said that Disha’s death was an accident. She died five days before the body of Rajput was found at his rented residence in Bandra on June 14. BJP leader Nitesh Rane had alleged that the deaths were linked."

Sushant Singh Rajput's Manager Disha Salian Death Was Accidental, Says CBI

A senior official from CBI told The Economic Times that following serious allegations connecting the two deaths of Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salian were made, Salian's death was probed in detail. He said, "The investigation has revealed that Salian had been organising get-togethers at her residence in the run-up to her birthday. The party on June 8th night was part of it. However, that night, Salian, who had consumed alcohol, lost her balance and slipped from the parapet of her flat."

Further explaining the details of the investigation process it is told that statements from eyewitnesses in that party were recorded along with forensic reports from the scene of the incident. All sorts of details were noted to find out what exactly could have happened in the case of Salian falling off from such a high floor.

The official also said, "Other than a few chats, which were in connection to a brand-building exercise, nothing more was found between Salian and Rajput. While Rajput had searched on Google news reports on him and Salian in the week preceding his suicide, there is nothing to show that her death triggered his suicide. They are two different incidents that are unfortunately linked."

It is also reported that the allegations made by BJP leader Nitesh Rane don't match the findings of the probe. Another official said, "The probe hasn’t found any substance in the allegations levelled by Rane that Salian was assaulted and had approached Rajput for help and that there is a larger political conspiracy at play. It was necessary to probe the circumstances owing to the sensitive nature of the case and the nature of allegations."
