Deepika Padukone On Gehraiyaan, Alisha And Her 15 Years In Bollywood

Deepika Padukone has been in Bollywood for 15 years, beginning her career as a model and making her Bollywood debut with Om Shanti Om in 2007. She has also appeared in films such as Love Aaj Kal, Cocktail, Piku, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, and Padmaavat. Gehraiyaan, a modern-day romantic drama is her upcoming film.

Deepika Padukone and the other Gehraiyaan cast are presently promoting their upcoming film. Padukone discussed her long career in Bollywood and her forthcoming film Gehraiyaan in an interview with PTI. 

The actor said she wishes to be a blend of being a blank slate and someone who is certain about their skills, she also added “It has been so much (about) learning, processing, understanding, growing, evolving. I hope that journey for me always continues.”

Gehraiyaan is a modern-day romantic drama. Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Dhairya Karwa play the main lead roles in the film along with Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapur.

Alisha is played by Deepika Padukone, who simply defined the role as "human." According to the actor, the film is an attempt to instill empathy in the audience for people of all types.

"It's extremely easy to say this one is flawed, this one is a villain, or this one is a hero. We attempted to humanise this character and have a better understanding of her intentions. Hopefully, we were able to accomplish that," Deepika said.

Ambition is frequently portrayed in a bad light, particularly when a woman is ambitious. Characters like her are judged. It's quite acceptable to be ambitious and desire a better life. "You're with the character the minute there's emotion, empathy, and understanding," she remarked.

She said, "All I’m trying to do on set is be as honest as possible to the character and the scene. Some days will be tough, some days it will be easy. That’s the way it is. "While it is an extremely realistic and layered character, she said, there are light moments to Alisha.

Intimacy is an element of the film, not the core premise, as per Deepika Padukone.

"Having an intimacy director adds a layer of security, comfort, and trust to the situation." But the picture is about so much more than intimacy. When you're attempting to be real in modern relationships, intimacy comes into play, " she said.
